How do I Find a Good Niche to get into? First Step To Make Money Online
I wanted to write about one of the main problem I see people facing when getting started to make money online and the most recurring questions I have received.
How do I Find a Good Niche to get into?
I know it is somehow of a pain to do and we usually would rather skip that section and just go for it by simply following our instincts
This is a big Mistake
Don’t ever think you know something will work just because you have convinced yourself of it.
Here is why…
A while back I felt that I wanted to enter a specific niche in the video game market. Being a gamer myself I was actually really psyched about it and though that for sure it would work…
So I Skipped the research part (boring right?) and started to build website after website and outsourcing some of the content creation and backlink strategies
6 months later with 20 websites up and a couple thousand dollars down, sales where at an ever high of ZERO!
Maybe it has happened to you too. I know it has happened to Every successful Online Marketer I know. While it is a monumental failure I don’t look at it that way. I think this was one of the most profitable lessons I ever learned!
Here are my breakthroughs so you don’t have to do the same mistakes
1. Don’t enter a niche because you feel that it will work. You Must KNOW that it will work. How? By seeing if it is working right now for Others.
How? Look for Google Ads and other forms of marketing. If money is being spent on advertising in an ongoing basis, it means some people are having success with that niche. Look at what they are doing, replicate the strategies and keep improving them.
2. Narrow your Niche. If you want to be able to charge higher prices and get a bigger margin you need to narrow down your niche. This is how you can quickly start dominating your market and become a leader. These are all big words but the bottom line is that you want at first to eliminate as many unqualified prospects as possible and only appeal to specific needs and problems.
For example if you want to enter the dog training market. Don’t just stop there, go deeper, narrow your niche.Go into Westie obedience training instead or any other breed. By doing this, you will have less clients but your offer will be so much more valuable
Anybody can go and buy a book on amazon on dog training for 9 dollars… however if they want a specialized solution for a specific problem for a specific dog breed then they will be ready to pay for it.
3. Don’t enter a passive niche. There are plenty of niches to choose from however always remember to pick niches with a lot of feelings in it, a lot of passion. The more passionate a market, the more they will talk about it and groups will start to form.
This is why i love forums, when I find 2 or 3 forums I know that there is some passion in that niche and I can start Listening (important word) to what others are saying. This will tell you what their problems are and what they want to buy…
This will tell you which product to create and sell…This is how you will succeed period
